The Target soil pH test kit is an extremely useful product in any garden, especially before planting and seeding. By testing your soil's pH, you'll be able to guide your plants through the growing process so they grow best and produce abundant crops or beautiful blooms.

Why is it important to check the pH and pH value of the soil?

Soil pH is an extremely important factor for any crop: vegetables, ornamental plants, shrubs and fruit trees, and even lawn. Plants that grow in optimal soil, which has a pH in the right values, are able to take up all the nutrients they need. If the pH is different than what the species requires, the uptake of macro and micro elements and their assimilation is impaired. Then the plants do not grow properly and yields are reduced.

In addition, growing plants in soil with an unsuitable pH for them can carry a greater risk of pests and diseases attacking and infesting them. Knowing the reaction and pH of the soil for your crops will allow you to alter them if necessary by acidifying or deacidifying.

How do I test soil with a Target kit?

Take a soil sample from a depth of about 10 cm. If you are testing a larger area, take a "bulk sample" - mix samples from several locations and take a small amount of the mixed soil for testing.
    Place the soil in a small vessel and add distilled water. Mix until it has the consistency of thin mud.
    Dip the indicator strip into the mud for 1-2 seconds. After about 30 seconds the fields will stain to the correct color.
    Read the result using the meter.

Important! There are 3 fields on one indicator strip, so the risk of reading error is very low.
